Farnborough International Ltd (FIL), organiser of Farnborough airshow, has appointed a new chief executive.
Shaun Ormrod, who has a background in venue and events management, will begin his duties after this year's show. The board's management said Ormrod's previous role as general manager of Alexandria Palace gave him the necessary venue market experience to fulfil the role.
Chairman of Farnborough International Simon Frost said: "Shaun will be assuming full chief executive responsibility after this year's air show in July when he takes over the lead from Trevor Sidebottom, our managing director who retires in November after guiding FIL through its formative years with considerable skill and excellent judgement."
Commenting on his appointment, Ormrod said: "Farnborough International Ltd is renowned throughout the world for the air show, and it is an honour for me to be associated with the largest temporary exhibition on the planet and a brand that is a British national treasure."
