LAW LORD: Al-Humaidan (pictured) said a UAE minister and three others are to be referred to court on charges including embezzlement.

A government minister in the United Arab Emirates may face charges of breach of trust in his business dealings after a Lebanese businesswoman lodged a complaint against him, UAE media reported on Friday.

Newspapers including Al Bayan quoted Dubai's attorney general, Essam Al-Humaidan, as saying the unnamed minister and three alleged associates, among them a US citizen, would be referred to a court on charges also including embezzlement and aiding and abetting a crime.

A UAE official contacted by newswire Reuters confirmed the official facing charges was a cabinet minister but declined to identify him.

The woman accused the minister of breaching the trust of her family's business, including a Dubai-based company, Al-Humaidan said, according to UAE daily Gulf News.
