FUJAIRAH CALLING: The new resort is in line with the emirate’s Tourism Bureau’s plans.

Al Fahim Group is to build a new luxury hotel in Fujairah along with its hospitality outfit, Rmal Hospitality.

The move is in line with Fujairah Tourism Bureau's plans to boost hospitality and promote the emirate as an attractive investment centre.

Anthony Liddiard, CEO of Rmal Hospitality said: "The Fujairah resort is our second luxury property and after conducting extensive feasibility studies we recognise that this emirate will become a major hospitality epicentre in the Middle East."

The new luxury resort is being developed on a 132,000m2 coastal plot, and will feature the latest amenities including Rmal Hospitality's signature restaurants, conference spaces and exceptional high-end spa facilities.

"We are in talks with exclusive international hotel operators and a major announcement will be made soon. We are confident that the appointment of the operator and the property will add a new dimension to the growing emirate of Fujairah," said Liddiard.

Fujairah houses a host of tourist attractions that include a museum showcasing archaeological finds and ethnographic displays along with several archaeological sites and many ancient forts.

Rmal Hospitality's current restaurant franchise portfolio includes Frankie's, wagamama and Trader Vic's, for which the company holds the rights to throughout the Gulf, the Middle East, North Africa and China.

One hundred and forty thousand tonnes is intended for export, while the remaining 210,000 tonnes will be sold to domestic companies in a bid to create a healthy domestic market.

"We have commitments for 68,000 tonnes per year from two downstream partners," said chief executive Tony Kinsman. "These are SAG and Oman Aluminium Processing Industries.

"Many people have worked very hard over the past two years to set this industry up and to welcome [domestic] companies on board is extremely satisfying."
