Fire breaks out in Dubai Marina tower

An entire tower at Dubai Marina’s Jumeriah Beach Residence was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, after a blaze broke out in the building.

JBR developer Dubai Properties issued a statement on Wednesday confirming a domestic fire had broken out in an apartment at 2pm.

"The fire was quickly contained, causing no major damage. Dubai Properties would like to remind all residents to use caution while handling flammable substances," the statement said.

An eyewitness told Arabian Business on Tuesday fire alarms went off in the Amwaj 4 tower, after smoke filled the building.

Her flatmate was forced to abandon her shower and run down 36 floors to the ground, along with other residents, she said.

The fire had occurred on the 30th floor, the eyewitness said.

The fire is one of several incidences to hit the JBR in recent weeks, including a suicide and a murder.

How unusual not being able to contact this company! Not the case when it comes to paying them money though. All they give are promises but nothing EVER materialises. All together a very bad experience would not consider dealing with them again.

Dubai properties are not being very clear.
This was a young couple who are also muslim, who were smoking on the sofa and fell asleep.
This was not someone burning flamable substances.
It is another of example of how DP try to cover the truth.
I live in Amwaj 4 and had to evacuate.

Unable contact anyon responsible at Dubai Properties ... so what's new!?

We are owners at the JBR and over the past four years have been unable to contact anyone responsible at Dubai Properties reagarding some serious issues that we have faced.

Have long since learnt that the people/management responsible for the mess at JBR are just names without faces.
