The first Emirates A380 aircraft has touched down in Dubai after its inaugural flight from Hamburg on Tuesday.
Several hundreds of people were at Dubai International Airport to see the historic moment when the superjumbo landed at 6.03pm.
In the end it was about 30 minutes late as the pilot decided to give people on the ground an impromptu display of the flying machine.
The first Emirates A380 was presented to chairman and chief executive Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum and to Emirates president, Tim Clark at a special ceremony in Germany on Monday.
The A380 features 489 seats (14 first class suites, 76 business and 399 economy).
Emirates is the largest customer for the A380 with 58 aircraft on order.
Emirates' first A380 commercial service is on Friday August 1 between Dubai and New York, USA. Currently Emirates Airline has 50 Airbus aircraft in its fleet.
