Europe and Asia's leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations SSP has signed a three year contract with Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) for exclusive management of all outlets within the new Terminal 3 building.

SSP currently already operates in more than 130 airports, 30 countries, and manages over 2000 restaurants, bars, cafes, convenience stores and food courts worldwide.

The company manages brands ranging from full service to casual dining restaurants, convenience stores and fast food outlets. At Abu Dhabi, SSP will feature brands including Burger King, Lebanese food at Sahten, Gino’s pizza, Chinese concept Yum Cha, Upper Crust, Segafredo, Caffè Ritazza, Hippopotamus, Bill Bentley, Flavours and SSP’s new bakery brand Panopolis.

“ADAC's vision and mission is to constantly strive to provide best-in-class services to our customers and today’s contract signing with SSP underlines that commitment,” said H.E. Khalifa Al Mazrouei, chairman and managing director of ADAC,” said Henrik Andersen, managing director of SSP Gulf and India.

“Supporting ADAC’s aim of establishing the new Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi Airport as a benchmark for the region goes hand-in-hand with our strategy to be recognised as the leading operator of food and beverage brands in the Middle East,” he said.

The company is “delighted to be working in co-operation with our Joint Venture partner, Saeed Ghobash of Ghobash Trading and Investment. His company’s local knowledge and sound infrastructure were instrumental in helping us secure this business,” Andersen said.

Although the company has an extensive network and experience in F&B outlets at travel locations around the world, Abu Dhabi International Airport will be its first venture in the region and its first deal with Ghobash Trading and Investment, he added.

The contract, signed today, means that SSP will commence its operations from the opening of Abu Dhabi International Airport's Terminal 3, which is scheduled to be operational by late October 2008.
