Dubailand has this week broken ground on its seven million ft² Universal Studios theme park project, which is the destination’s leading attraction scheduled to be completed for its December 2010 phase one launch.
The ground-breaking ceremony was lead by Dubailand CEO Mohammed Al Habbai and vice president of Universal Studios Dubailand Laurent Jeanjean.
“We are proud to announce the ground-breaking of Universal Studios Dubailand, the premier theme park in the Middle East and the star of Dubailand,” said Jeanjean.
The park is being developed around the theme ‘Ride the Movies’ and features five different lands: Surf City Boardwalk; Epic Adventures; Land of Legendary Heroes; Hollywood, and New York.
Universal Studios Dubailand will join the brand’s existing portfolio of theme parks in Hollywood, Florida, Japan and Singapore.
