OIL CHANGE: A wealthy Arab reportedly sent his supercar 6,500 miles for an oil change.

A wealthy Arab from Qatar sent his Lamborghini supercar on a 10,400km round-trip to London for an oil change - at a cost of more than $46,000, it has been revealed.

The $380,000 vehicle travelled on a scheduled flight from Qatar to Heathrow, and was flown back to the Middle East after the service, the Telegraph in England reported on Thursday.

The journey of the Murcielago LP640, which features in the latest Batman film The Dark Knight, has sparked outrage from environmental groups.

According to reports, the black and gold car cost $7,000 to service at an approved dealer, plus around $40,000 to freight to Britain and back.

Jenny Evans from the campaign group Plane Stupid told the Telegraph: "This horrifies me. It is another example of how rich people exploit and pollute the planet because of their money."

A Friends of the Earth spokesman added that he thought the 10,400km trip was "ludicrous".

Qatar Airways confirmed it carried the vehicle.

Despite all the so called green initiatives, citizens in gulf countries are really destroying this planet much faster than anyone else incuding Americans.

You only need to look at the roads and freeways to see the ratio of 4x4/suv's on the road. I guess since fuel is cheap in this part of the world people don't care.

Bearing in mind that energy usage is astronomically high (like aircon's are used round the clock) people in gulf countries should make an effort to reduce their carbon footprint.

Can someone please go measure the temperature on Sheik Zayed Road. I'm sure it's at least 2 or 3 degrees higher than other places in Dubai.
