Cargo ship capsizes off Oman coast

COASTAL CALAMITY: Cargo ship capsized off the coast of the Governorate of Dhofar.

A commercial ship, Dubai Coast, loaded with cargo capsized near Al Halaniyat Islands off the coast of Oman on Monday.

The 19 crew members were rescued and brought ashore and no one was injured in the drama which was caused by adverse weather conditions.

A crew member said it seems rough seas damaged the propeller of the ship and led to the mishap.

Capsizing of ships is a rare incident in the governorate of Dhofar.
