SMOKE SCARE: An Emirates flight about to take off from Kuwait was halted after smoke was seen coming from its rear. (Supplied)

An Emirates flight to Dubai was aborted as prepared to take off from Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday after the captain saw smoke coming out of the rear of the plane.

The problem was discovered as the Boeing 777 taxied along the runway, forcing the captain to stop the plane immediately, the official Kuwait New Agency (KUNA) reported.

One passenger standing when the plane came to a halt sustained minor injuries, KUNA said, citing a civil aviation official.

The news agency described the problem as a “malfunction in the rear of the plane”.

The incident caused the flight to be cancelled and all the passengers were forced to disembark and wait for another Emirates plane to take them to Dubai, KUNA said.

The Boeing 777 can carry between 283 and 368 passengers in a three-class configuration.

Emirates was not immediately available for comment when contacted by Arabian Business.

Firstly, you're flying a Boeing 777, not a Sedan car... Aircraft are built with so many automated sensors that can send fault information to the main deck... and whats that thing that does this all... i keep forgetting... oh yes, its called a 'computer'!
So if they say the captain saw smoke coming from the aircraft rear, you dont have to be literal in its meaning... rather just be happy he saved hundreds of lives!

To BeckleyUAE
You know we are living in the Year 2008 and soon in 2009 do you??

the B777 have a Rear view from the tail and couples of angle which can be found in the cockpit. and the cockpit have a computer which warn the captain of any failure.

TO john:
3rd Emirates are always reporting to the factory for any failure but not always they have to TELL YOU what was the problem, at least they something said about this so they will later say whatever they want to tell u.

Picture isn't always about the news, it is an Emirates Airlines plane and the story about Emirates airline.
