Hyatt Hotels and Resorts has announced that its Hyatt Place brand, which has grown to 118 hotels across the USA since its 2006 launch, had been named the top mid-scale full service brand in the JD Power and Associates 2008 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index.

Commenting on the accolade, Global Hyatt Corporation president and chief executive Mark Hoplamazian called the brand a “next generation concept”, saying it was the result of “some of the most extensive customer research ever undertaken by Hyatt”.

“The fact that our guests have recognised Hyatt Place in this way in its first year of consideration is a testament to our associates who engage with our guests everyday,” Hoplamazian continued.

“We are focused on continuing to expand Hyatt Place so that we may serve more markets in North America, and eventually around the world, as we remain dedicated to delivering superior service and value to our guests.”

Speaking to Hotelier Middle East magazine in June this year, Hyatt International — South West Asia managing director Peter Fulton confirmed the group was looking to introduce the brand to the Middle East in the near future.

“This whole brand has been based on extensive market research, and the product has been built and tailored on customers’ preferences; consequently it’s had rave reviews,” Fulton said. “So we would expect to see the first Hyatt Places in this region probably by 2011.”
