Marriott International has announced the opening of its new property in China — the largest Marriott hotel outside the USA.
The 1312-room Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall boasts seven restaurants and lounges, half of which are currently operational, with the remainder set to open by mid August.
For conferences and social events, the hotel has three ballrooms and 10 function rooms providing more than 4000 square meters of banquet and meeting space.
Recreational facilities include a fitness center, an indoor heated swimming pool and a Quan Spa with 14 treatment rooms (set to open by mid September).
Other amenities include 24-hour room service, laundry, business center, gift shop and an executive floor.
Marriott International president and managing director of international lodging Ed Fuller commented: “China is highly regarded as one of the most important economies in the 21st century and Beijing is the heart of this powerhouse.
“The Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall, with its enormous size, quality amenities and services, is a strong addition to our portfolio in this city”.
The property will be offering a special opening rate of RMB 900++ [US $131] on deluxe rooms from August 1 through December 31, 2008.
