A Minister of the UAE Government has vowed to fight corruption, ensure accountability and make business dealings as transparent as possible.
Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, said the government was committed to rooting out those involved in illegal deals no matter how large or sensitive.
He reiterated the ministry's policy to promote transparency and reveal cases of corruption and mistrust among staff members, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Tuesday
Sheikh Saif's comments came the day after the Dubai Government announced a crackdown on corruption.
Last week mortgage lender Tamweel's former chief executive Adel Al Shirawi and head of investments were named as part of an investigation for alleged wrongdoing, and Nakheel confirmed one of its staff was also being questioned by police as part of a bribery probe.
And the Ministry of Labour recently busted a scam involving officials who allegedly issued more than 3,000 illegal work permits.
