Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) took delivery of two High Definition, outside broadcast (OB) vans last month and will get two more by the end of October.
The arrival of the first two vans has been fast-tracked following a deal announced with Thomson Grass Valley.
Speaking about the delivery, Abdul Hadi Al-Sheikh, CTO at Abu Dhabi Media Company said: “Our partnership with Thomson Grass Valley has provided ADMC with the technical know-how and infrastructure to support this new era of HD broadcasting across the Arab world. Combined with innovative local content generation and cost effective production facilities, Abu Dhabi is increasingly reinforcing its role as a leading media hub for the region.”
The new vans, which carry between five to eight cameras, feature Wireless HD cameras, digital sound systems, HD sow motion disc recorders, HD transmission systems and air conditioning systems that can deal with extreme operating temperatures during summer. The new vans will be operational in September.
