QMDI to host MPI event in Qatar

Qatar MICE Development Institute (QMDI) will host Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) Global Certificate in Meeting Operations 1(GCMO) in Qatar.

MPI’s GCMO 1 is designed to address the basic to intermediate skills necessary to becoming a successful event and meeting professional.

The course will be conducted by MPI’s international trainers who will share first hand knowledge in organising events as well as global best practices.

In addition to the interactive and essential learning experience, delegates will have to pass an evaluation and assessment to obtain their GCMO 1 certification.

The intensive course provides a semester’s worth of practical knowledge and comprehensive understanding of event management and operations.

The GCMO 1’s curriculum covers management methodology in planning meetings and events; venue operations and selection; budgeting and evaluating the financial impact (ROI); contracting and addressing legal issues; event registration and housing; planning food and beverage functions within budget; trouble shooting audio-visual; accurately applying the steps in risk assessment; designing a marketing plan for an event; setting an ethical agenda; and applying adult learning principles in delivering educational programmes.

The five-day training programme for event and meeting industry professionals will take place November 9-13, 2008 at the Mövenpick Towers & Suites, Doha, Qatar.

The delegate fee of US $2500 is inclusive of all course material.
