A new commission payment system will be introduced by October for taxi drivers who cross the daily target in Abu Dhabi.
The system was announced by the unnamed taxi company during talks this week with officials of the Philippine Embassy.
The embassy initiated the talks following complaints from Filipino drivers who fear they would not be able to meet the daily target, Khaleej Times reported on Wednesday.
Each driver currently has to make 165 dirhams a day to qualify for commission to paid to their basic salary of 1,000 dirhams a month.
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Libran N Cabactulan praised the company's management for coming up with the new system.
The Filipino taxi drivers had expressed fears that they might not be able to meet the target on some days because of the school holidays and introduction of free buses till December this year.
There have been growning concerns among UAE taxi drivers over pay and conditions recently with one taxi firm in Abu Dhabi reportedly sacking 40 drivers after they complained to the government about low pay.
More than 100 Tawasul drivers complained to the Ministry earlier in August about poor working conditions. The ministry promised to contact their employers to sort the problem and asked them to resume work.
