The Silent Disco craze is continuing to spread across the globe and it is headed for the UAE.

Sytske Kamstra, publicity and production manager for 433fm.com/Silent Disco, confirmed that initial discussions had taken place with a Dubai promoter to bring the event to the UAE.

“We’re in initial discussions, but the promoter and I are looking forward to bringing Silent Disco to the UAE for the first time. It is a new territory for us and we will offer a new entertainment experience,” Kamstra said.

January 2009, is likely to be when Dubai audiences can expect to experience Silent Disco, but Kamstra said specific dates and venues were yet to be confirmed.

“We will visit the city for about a week and play in three or four different locations, with capacity crowds to be around 1000 and we may also play at a private party in the city,” Kamstra claimed.

She also said there was a possibility that Silent Disco could play at UAE festivals in the future.

The Silent Disco, is an event where audiences wear wireless headphones and party to an inaudible beat.

Party-goers wear custom-made digital headphones, which are run on a high frequency fm transmission, to listen to music transmitted through the virtual radio station 433fm.com.

Music can be played non-stop in a number of languages including English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese.

First started in 2002, Silent Disco and has grown to broadcast at parties and major festivals worldwide.
