by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Saturday, 30 August 2008

The countdown to the Construction Week Awards has begun with only one month left for companies to nominate themselves online at www.itp.net/events/cwawards.

The awards ceremony which will be held on Wednesday, November 5, at the Westin, Dubai, will be followed by a gala dinner.

The deadline for submissions is October 1 with nominations only being accepted through the CW Awards website. Late entries will not be accepted.

Details on the various awards categories and table bookings can also be found on the website.

The judging panel is currently being finalised and will include top bosses from contracting companies, real estate development companies, architectural and design firms, contracting firms and environment and health and safety watchdogs.

Due to the nature of the awards and the global reach, the panel will include judges based in the GCC, the US and the UK.

The awards will be preceded by the Construction Week Conference, which will be held on the same day at Mina Al Salam, Madinat Jumeirah, The Arabian Resort in Dubai.

It will cover the most pressing topics and concerns in the construction industry.

With involvement from our eight affiliated titles the conference will feature two simultaneous streams to cater to the many niches in the industry with the most focused and relevant discussions.

The UAE and neighboring GCC countries are enjoying a construction renaissance not seen since early 20th century New York and Chicago and post-war London. All eyes are on the region, taking note that what happens here sets the tone for the future elsewhere.
