Bids for the project management consultancy contract on the US $3 billion Qatar-Bahrain Causeway have been resubmitted said a spokesman from consultancy group Mott Macdonald.
Colin Finlayson, from Mott Macdonald's Qatar office, said their bid was resubmitted on August 1, following an original bid made last October.
Other bidders include US-based KBR and UK-based Halcrow.
The successful bidder will manage the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway Consortium (QBCC) which includes France's Vinci Construction Grand Projects, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company, Germany's Hochtief, QDVC and Middle East Dredging Company. The 40km friendship bridge will connect Ras Esharaq on the Northwest coast of Qatar with Askar Village on the east coast of Bahrain.
Construction is expected to begin in January.
