Kuwait firm starts work on $2bn aviation complex

KGL Investment Company said on Monday it has started work on establishing a huge $2 billion logistic aviation complex in a former US military base in the Philippines.

Dr Mahdi Al-Jazzaf said that the project of constructing a complex on a 167-hectare site at Clark Field in Pampanga, is the first big investment by a Kuwaiti group in the Philippines, news agency KUNA reported.

Global Gateway Logistics City (GGLC) will have aviation companies, storages, distribution, transport, and light industry centers, and offices, he said.

Meanwhile, the company's investment manager said that it is expected that about $2 billion will be invested in the long term that will provide 70,000 job opportunities.
