Igniting primeval senses, the keys to a Cigarette 46 provide the ultimate opportunity to turn and burn.

Since the first sands of time began to trickle through mankind's hourglass, the male of the species has sought to display his prowess and dominance in order to attract female attention.

To guarantee the survival of the race, dialled into his genetic make-up was a natural inclination toward possessing the biggest, fastest, strongest and most attractive of assets.

Intoxicated with adrenaline, your grin contorts in the rush of air at 114mph.

Horses, camels and weaponry may have sufficed for our ancestors, but in the modern age, the machine has become the primary extension for the masculine mating display.

As western culture has flourished during the 20th century, America has been at the forefront of the mechanical revolution and Harley Davidson, the Ford Mustang, and muscleboats have become iconic representations of American culture.

Big, brash and powerful these ultimate symbols of masculinity thumb their nose at convention and practicality, existing purely to feed the basest instincts of man.

Levi Strauss, Coca Cola and McDonald's may be U.S. exports and the staple diet for global mainstream consumption - but for the red-blooded male who is determined to demonstrate his Alpha status, only the straight V6, Huey helicopter, red meat and a Cigarette Racing boat will do.

We can therefore conclude that it is not our fault we'd love to own a Cigarette Racing boat - it's genetic! The craft themselves are not so much another production boat, they are a mobile object d'art. A Cigarette Racing boat is a statement - a noisy fantasy machine that transports its owner not from place to place, but to an elevated position amongst his peers.

Born in hedonistic Miami during an era when flashy excess and fast living was considered everyday, the Cigarette Racing company has since been brought up under the guidance of several different guardians and matured into a brand that produces some of, if not the, finest musclecraft in the world.

The influence the brand has had on powerboating is so enormous a whole new leisure marine category had to be created for it - the Thunderboat.

Members of the exclusive Cigarette owner's club are true enthusiasts. The exclusivity however is not necessarily because of the price tag, instead it is due to the personality traits shared by each owner - a desire to go fast and look good doing it!

Cigarette owners are not the type to accept a ‘run-of-the-mill' boats, so each craft is custom built to ensure it is unique and is designed to make a statement about the owner's personality.

Anyone familiar with the Orange County Chopper TV show understand how each Cigarette is built - the level of customisation is similar. The paint, trim and upholstery design all form part of the sales consultation; we recently saw a boat called ‘Last Samurai' which has bonsai trees cut in the aluminium speaker covers!

Arriving at Alghanim Marine in Kuwait, it became obvious that each craft also possesses its own personality and it was a case of ‘love at first sight' as we instantly fell for the 46'Rough Rider that sat gleaming in the sun. As straight and narrow as an archer's arrow, the 46 Rough Rider oozes tightly wound potential energy just sitting on the dock.

Her slightly arced foredeck is essentially uninterrupted, creating a clean aerodynamic profile and a blank canvas upon which the guys in the spray booth work their magic.
