This trip is open to both pleasure divers (experienced divers who take care of themselves) and those completing the various courses offered by the Pavilion Dive Centre. So, after a quick briefing we split into our various parties and kitted up.

With visibility at around 12 metres, slipping into the warm aquamarine Indian Ocean fulfilled every fantasy I'd ever had about diving. We descended to a depth of around 20 metres and slowly finned our way along the glorious Wonderwall.

Despite this being only my second open water dive, it is incredible the amount of control I have learnt by this point - literally flying in three dimensions.

Breathing in deeply to rise above the delicate corals, and expelling the air from your lungs allows you to slowly plunge into deep crevasses populated by a myriad of colourful fish.

Utilising neutral bouyancy we hovered for some time over a beautiful clown fish as it busied itself amongst the abundant plantlife. Observing fish in their natural habitat is such a privelidge, but as you are diving too, it feels like a visit to an incredible interactive zoo.

Eels poke heads from their concealed lairs, opening and closing their mouths in defiant defensive gestures, as colourful ‘sweetlips' cavort between them.
