New high-tech devices are being introduced in Abu Dhabi to help motorists involved in road accidents.
Sa'ed Company for Charting Light Traffic Accidents is set to launch 25 electronic traffic patrols to cover the city and its suburbs with effect from September 15, reported news agency WAM on Thursday.
Engineer Ibrahim bin Yousef Raml, executive director of the company, said: "The new devices are equipped with the latest traffic equipment. It will be fitted with integrated safety devices including first aid and communication devices, which will link the patrol with the Sa'ed operation room."
The move has come as transport chiefs across the UAE look at new initiatives to cut the number of accidents that happen on local roads.
The Sa'ed devices are the first of their kind to be introduced in the Middle East.
