Minosh Salam - SquareOne

SquareOne, a recently established systems integrator that specialises in niche services and solutions, has struck a regional partnership agreement with automation software maker Captaris.

The vendor claims that the partnership with the start-up integrator will help it attract more customers, augment its market share and position it as one of the leading providers of document automation software.

Ghassan Surkhi, director of practices at SquareOne, says one of the major aims of the alliance will be to increase Captaris’ market share and improve its focus.

“SquareOne’s local presence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar and investments in building a dedicated team focused on Captaris products and solutions exemplifies our dedication to this partnership,” asserted Surkhi.

SquareOne is a new entry into the Middle East channel and has set up offices in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The company specialises on four areas of IT expertise which it describes as “practices”. These practices are unified communication, application delivery, virtualisation and information security.

Minosh Salam, also director of practices at SquareOne, describes the firm as a niche information technology company and as a new-comer reveals it is looking to sign partnerships with vendors such as Captaris to complement its portfolio which already includes Citrix and Juniper.

“We have identified some niche solutions where we go to organisations which are already at a high level of maturity in terms of IT infrastructure and show them how they can go about optimising it and these are the practices that we will go after,” explained Salam.

In addition to looking at establishing future vendor alliances, SquareOne aims to increase the number of staff that it currently has at its UAE and Saudi Arabia offices. As part of its rapid expansion in the Middle East, Salam reveals that the company has laid business foundations in other regional markets.

“We have a very small team in the UAE, currently 10 people, which has been operational for the last couple of months,” said Salam. “We opened up the Saudi office a month ago and have two people on the ground there but we are looking at regional operations, hence we have just registered an office in Qatar as well and plan to have these kinds of satellite offices to cater to the regional market.”
