Mott MacDonald has won the design engineering contract for a tower in the Al Seef district in Bahrain. The UK firm will design the civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering for the project, which is worth approximately US $100 million (AED367 million).

The company will be responsible for the design of all vertical transportation throughout the building which will be 44 storeys high and is to be built on reclaimed land. The tower, a project of Ithmaar Development Company, will contain residential apartments, offices and a four-star hotel. Mott MacDonald will also work on the health and safety needs of the building.

Mott MacDonald project director Alan Worley revealed: “We are delighted to be awarded this prestigious project by Ithmaar Development Company and aim to bring our global expertise in tall buildings to the project and hopefully other projects in the future.”
