A 38-year-old Indian construction worker has been killed in Sharjah after being struck on the head by a bag of cement.

The incident, which took place at a building site in the Al Ta’awun area early Sunday morning, happened when a rope holding a cement bag being transported up a flight of stairs snapped, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Monday.

The falling back hit the worker, identified as R.C.B., on the head, killing him instantly. Police have confirmed the death was accidental.
