Security distributor ComGuard will serve as the regional provider of courseware and certification programmes from the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants. The EC-Council is a member-based organisation that offers educational software including the certified ethical hacker and licence penetration tester courses.
ComGuard claims that the Middle East region is a relatively untapped market when it comes to information security, but it also cites figures from research house IDC that suggest spending in the sector will soon breach the $9 billion mark.
It is this surge that will increase the demand for trained security specialists, an upturn that the pair is looking to capitalise on.
“We see this partnership as an opportunity that will further enhance our position as a key player in the information security space,” asserted Ajay Chauhan, CEO at ComGuard.
Jay Bavisi, president of the EC-Council, says the appointment of ComGuard — which was founded six years ago and is headquartered in Dubai’s Internet City — will ensure it enjoys a stronger presence in the region.
