Apple iPod gets thinner

Apple has just launched new iPod models, which boasts improved functionality and new features at a press conference in San Francisco.
Available in nine different colors, the new iPod nano has Apple’s thinnest measurements yet at less than a quarter-inch thick and features a 2-inch curved glass screen for convenient video viewing.
The new 8 and 16GB models feature the ‘accelerometer’ technology that’s been popularized by Apple's iPhone, allowing the player to identify whether it’s being held vertically or horizontally.
It also comes with a ‘shake’ mode that causes the device go into shuffle mode when users flick their wrist. Another new feature revealed was the ‘Genius’ function, which enables automatic playlists to be created using files from user libraries based on a single song choice.
Apple has also released three new versions of the iPod Touch (8GB, 16GB, 32GB) that are slimmer than previous models and come with integrated speakers.
The company has revealed that 160 million iPods have been sold worldwide till date.
