Fortinet confirms Middle East management change

Bashar Bashaireh has left Fortinet after eighteen months as regional manager.

Fortinet has revealed its temporary succession strategy after confirming the departure of regional manager Bashar Bashaireh. Bashaireh is understood to have taken up a new challenge in Jordan after serving as Fortinet’s Middle East chief for the past eighteen months.

The UTM specialist’s former Singapore country manager, Judhi Prasetyo, is now the most senior figure in charge of the Middle East business, although Fortinet hasn’t yet decided on a permanent replacement to take over Bashaireh’s management duties.

“To ensure continuity, Judhi Prasetyo, who had been working for Fortinet in Singapore and joined Fortinet Middle East several months ago, working closely with Bashar, is currently responsible for sales and channel activities in the region,” said Fortinet’s EMEA VP Patrice Perche in a statement.

“Fortinet has been committed to the region, having recently added resources in countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and its local team will continue to successfully develop and support the company’s growing market share in the Middle East,” added Perche.

Basharieh joined Fortinet in May 2007 with a remit to strengthen the company’s value added reseller network and increase its market share. Prior to that he oversaw Middle East sales at 3Com and served as the regional manager at Cyberguard. He also worked for the leading business partners of HP and IBM in Jordan, as well as Saudi integration outfit Ebttikar Technologies.
