Centre Stage Management (CSM) has teamed-up with In Move to deliver its first Gulf/German collaboration, United We Rock.

The concept behind the project is to provide unsigned rock bands from Germany and the Middle East, with an opportunity to be the opening act of both next year’s Desert Rock Festival (March 6-7) in Dubai, and With Full Force festival (July 3-5) in Germany.

United We Rock employs an online voting system, which requires bands to launch an application/audition directly on the website. The finalists’ biographies, photographs, videos and original songs, will then be uploaded for the public to elect the opening act that will perform at both festivals.

CSM celebrated its fifth Dubai Desert Rock Festival this year featuring 11 international bands and two local acts.

One of the local acts was selected from the Shamal Battle of the Bands competition, held a few days before the festival, to be the opening act for both days of Desert Rock.

In 2005, CSM created Shamal Battle of the Bands to promote local acts. CSM further developed the concept to cater for the growing amount of unsigned talent across the region by providing an opportunity for bands to perform at both the Desert Rock and With Full Force festivals.

The joint project was was initially conceived by Lara Teperdjian, executive vice president of CSM, and Sven Borges, organiser of the With Full Force event.

Bands from Germany and the Middle East must complete the application process before October 31, at each country’s festival organiser website www.withfullforce.de and www.desertrockfestival.com.
