Huawei deal with Etisalat Misr to build wireless network

Huawei has signed a deal with Etisalat Misr to build a wireless network throughout Egypt.

The Chinese hardware manufacturer will also be responsible for improvements to Etisalat Misr’s core network and transmission network, which Huawei claims will result in a “great improvement of network capacity and coverage quality”.

“We chose Huawei as our supplier when we got the 3rd mobile license in 2006. After two years development, we choose Huawei again for the network expansion. It will enable us to provide best service quality to our subscribers,” Haitham Abdul Razzak, CTO of Etisalat Misr said.

Headquartered in the UAE, Etisalat has a presence in 16 countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Etisalat Misr, its subsidiary in Egypt, began operations in 2007.
