Kylie Minogue has confirmed the date of her two concerts in Dubai, one of which will launch The Atlantis resort.

The Australian pop singer will perform on November 21 before a 20,000-strong crowd at Festival City.

She will also perform on private concert on November 20, attended by 2,000 guests, including business leaders, politicians, actors, musicians and members of the Dubai royal family.

Other media reports say she is performing on November 19 and 20 but a spokesman from Atlantis confirmed the dates to Arabian Business on Monday.

The performances are Minogue’s first in the Middle East. Tickets will go on sale on September 24 and are expected to sell out within a day.

The Atlantis resort officially opens on September 24 - despite a recent fire on September 2 that destroyed the hotel lobby roof and caused smoke damage to the outside of the main hotel building - but the grand opening will take place a few weeks later.

The launch of Atlantis has become one of the most talked about events on the Dubai calendar, with several global superstars linked with the grand opening, including Michael Jackson and Madonna.

The 1,539-room resort will encompass a 46-hectare site with 17 hectares of water-themed amusement parks, an open air marine habitat, beaches, boutiques and restaurants.
