Metito selects Nortel for converged communications

Water treatment company Metito has selected Nortel unified communications solutions for its new Dubai headquarters.

The unified communications network will serve 60 employees at the Dubai TechnoPark office, and will provide integrated access to solutions like wireless telephony, email, instant messaging and video conferencing.

Naseem Ul Haq Zaki, chief information officer of Metito Group IT said: “Working with Nortel, we have created an optimized unified communications network that’s simple to manage, and capable of supporting new services as we need them. The initial network is already serving 60 employees and is capable of supporting more than 400 people as our communications needs evolve.

“Because we are located in one of the leading green buildings in the Middle East, we were also looking for environmentally friendly and energy efficient products to deploy like Nortel Ethernet Switches,” he added.

The Nortel solutions will also be integrated with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, which will enable better collaboration between staff, through services like presence and document sharing.
