Jarir Bookstore has been awarded the rights to purchase external hard drives directly from Western Digital following an exclusive agreement between the pair in Saudi Arabia.
Jarir, one of the most powerful IT retailers in Saudi Arabia, will market the hard drive vendor’s consumer line of portable storage devices to customers visiting its 20 showrooms. Western Digital says the tie-up is part of a push to enhance its coverage of the Saudi market, including the SMB sector.
“We can now service the growing Saudi market with an established, reputable partner that will offer our customers not only the best products and technology, but the best end-to-end customer experience,” explained Khwaja Saifuddin, sales director for the Middle East and Africa at Western Digital.
Western Digital’s latest range of portable storage hardware will be available at Jarir stores, including its ‘My Book’ and ‘Passport’ families, which feature capacities from 500GB to 2TB.
Nasser Al-Ageel, COO at Jarir, said the company aimed to increase its market share in the “fast growing” storage sector as a result of the agreement.
