ictQATAR has assigned ITWorx to establish its Knowledge Net portal across Qatar to thirty seven more schools over the next 14 months.
The first phase of the project, which provides teachers with IT tools and students instant access to learning material, was initially rolled out to twelve independent schools in Qatar.
Based on the Microsoft Learning Gateway, the Knowledge Net portal allows students to submit assignments, and share information and research projects online. In turn, teachers can post and receive homework assignments, provide feedback and upload study material for students.
“Knowledge is the new principal commodity, and the ability to successfully cultivate it and guide it will accelerate social and economic wellbeing in Qatar by preparing students better for the jobs of tomorrow,” said Dr. Jock Schorger, an educational technology specialist at the Supreme Education Council, working in cooperation with ictQATAR.
ITWorx aims to extend Qatar’s online learning environment and provide adequate training to resident teachers in this new phase.
