Ramadan road crash death toll falls

The death toll on Abu Dhabi's roads during the month of Ramadan have so far been slashed, compared to last year.

Latest figures for September, released by the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police, show three people have died - compared to 12 in the same period of the holy month in 2007, reported news agency WAM on Friday.

However, the total number of road accidents in Abu Dhabi rose to 133 cases and resulted in 23 serious and 72 moderate injuries.

During the same period last year, a total of 12 people died in 94 road accidents, which resulted in 23 cases of serious and 50 cases of moderate injuries.
