The Rocco Forte Collection is ramping up its activity in the GCC market as it prepares to open its first two properties in the region – in Abu Dhabi and Jeddah.

The UK-based luxury hotel operator, which currently boasts 11 properties in key cities Europe-wide, is opening a sales office in Abu Dhabi and is also running trade workshops in the UAE, Kuwait and Doha in October.

“The Middle East is a region of growing importance for The Rocco Forte Collection as we continue to grow our portfolio,” explained Rocco Forte Collection global sales director Mark Allvey.

“Le Richemond, Geneva and The Charles, Munich are just two examples of new hotels in locations that serve the Middle East market well, giving a refreshing option from the more traditional five-star hotels you tend to find across Europe. We provide ‘the Art of Simple Luxury’ — the finest attention to detail and service in luxurious, contemporary surroundings, delivered in an uncomplicated way.”

He said the company was “delighted” to choose the Middle East for its second phase of development.

“New luxury properties in Abu Dhabi and Jeddah will see the start of a number of new Rocco Forte properties opening across the Gulf States, in addition to a new regional sales office to open in Abu Dhabi within the coming months to better support our travel trade partners.”

Rocco Forte Collection’s Abu Dhabi property will be a 282-room 12-floor five-star hotel featuring two pools, a health club, spa and several F&B outlets including a bar suspended on the fifth floor of a 10-storey atrium.

The company’s Jeddah property will be located in the shopping district on Tahlia Road. The two-tower 19-floor hotel will comprise 159 rooms with a high proportion of suites and 50 serviced apartments. Facilities will include a business centre and 1700m² of conference space.
