Annual inflation in Kuwait rose to 11.35 percent in June from 11.08 percent in May, driven by housing and food costs, official data showed on Sunday.
The Gulf state's all items consumer price index advanced to 130.5 points on June 30 compared with 117.2 points a year earlier, government data obtained by newswire Reuters showed.
As in previous months, inflation was driven by housing costs, which gained 13.15 percent in the year to June, while food costs rose 14.20 percent, the data showed.
The Kuwaiti government has unveiled a package of measures to combat inflation including raising subsidies on food and building materials.
The cost of beverages and tobacco advanced 24.09 percent in the year to June, household goods prices gained 15.5 percent, and transport and communications costs rose 4.8 percent, the data showed. (Reuters)
