The team with the most points will win the competition and go on to represent the UAE at the World Robot Olympiad 2008 taking place from October 31 to November 3 at Yokohama in Japan.

Contestants can take part in either the Regular category, which has a ‘Recycle Keeper’ theme or the Open category that has ‘Saving Global Environment’ as its theme.

“ADEC is very proud to host and conduct this excellent academic-based initiative. The Robot Olympiad is a valuable means to get students to consider the study of science and technology as a career and to produce valuable inventions that will benefit our society,” said H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al-Khaili, director general of the Abu Dhabi Educational Council.

For more information on registration and rules of the competition, visit the ADEC website.
