Giorgio Armani is to open the first home furnishing store in the UAE at the end of October, the Italian fashion designer said on Monday.

Armani said it will open an Armani/Casa store at Dubai Mall under a partnership with Emaar Retail, a subsidiary of Dubai developer Emaar Properties.

It said the store will be ready for when Dubai Mall opens its doors to the public, scheduled for Oct. 30.

The store will include furniture, accessories, fabrics, ornaments and lighting all designed by Giorgio Armani, in addition to offering interior design services.

Giorgio Armani said in a statement Dubai Mall was “a prestigious location” for its flagship Armani/Casa store in the UAE.

The Dubai Mall will have over 1,200 retail stores and over 160 food and beverage outlets when it opens.

Macy's Inc announced last week that the first Bloomingdale's store outside the US will open at Dubai Mall in February 2010.

Bloomingdale's will have two locations at the mall, a three-level fashion and accessories store and a one-level home store.

Giorgio Armani is also launching an Armani hotel and Armani-designed residences in the Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building, located next to Dubai Mall.
