Relatives of missing South African Kerry Winter, who disappeared in Dubai, are due to meet Interpol officials next week.
The family opened a missing persons case in South Africa last week in the hope that Interpol might be able to assist them in their search for Kerry who has been missing since August 20.
Winter’s ex-boyfriend, Brit Mark Arnold, was arrested in connection with her disappearance last month.
Her brother Kurt said Interpol officials had asked the family to meet them to discuss the case, media in South Africa reported on Tuesday.
“It does look quite promising. We are going to meet them and to update them about the case. Hopefully they will be liaising with the Dubai police and assist with the search,” he told The Cape Town-based Star.
He said he had also met UAE embassy officials to hand over a petition.
In the petition, the family requested that Bloemfontein academic Danie Krugel be allowed to travel to Dubai with his DNA-tracking equipment to search for Kerry.
