Mena Telecom has opened a new disaster recovery site in Manama to ensure business operations continue even during unexpected circumstances.
The DRS is operational and capable of taking on the full network load if necessary. To address the issue of power outages, multiple power sources have been put in place to ensure both the main and disaster recovery site remain unaffected.
Mena Telecom, a subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House in Bahrain, is preparing to rollout a nationwide network for its 802.16e WiMAX range of products and services. The final stage is close to completion with testing taking place and the disaster recovery site fully functional.
In the event that Mena Telecom has to reroute processing to the DRS, "the process will go by virtually unnoticed - and the network will continue running at peak performance as if nothing happened," commented Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat, CEO and managing director of KFH (Bahrain).
