Christian Magirus says the Stoneosft solutions fit with the existing products it carries.

Enterprise storage VAD Magirus has landed the rights to distribute security products from Stonesoft in the Middle East.

The agreement builds on an earlier agreement between the pair, which initially covered Central Europe but has now been extended to Western Europe as well as the Middle East.

Magirus will offer resellers a range of Stonesoft solutions comprising firewalls, virtual private networks and intrusion prevention systems for the corporate field. The Germany-based distributor, which has an office in Dubai, is also looking to use the tie-up as a way into virtualisation-focused partners, as the vendor’s StoneGate products provide an important link between virtualisation and security.

“The Stonesoft solutions fit outstandingly well into our portfolio because these products offer a competitive, intelligent and adaptive approach in the security and virtualisation field while at the same time addressing a strongly growing market,” claimed Christian Magirus, executive vice president and COO at Magirus.

“This offers our business partners first-class opportunities to expand their business activities in the strategically important ‘virtualised secure networking’ area,” he added.

Magirus says it will launch the partnership by giving partners access to a virtual demo centre into which the StoneGate solutions have been integrated. The VAD is also planning a series of workshops on the virtualised secure networking theme.
