MALL OPENING: An artist's impression of how the ice rink included in the new Dubai Mall will look.

Emaar Malls Group is appealing for volunteers to act as ambassadors at the soon-to-open Dubai Mall.

The company has introduced an elite Guest Services Volunteer Programme, which will see women volunteers serving as goodwill ambassadors with their wages going to charity.

The community initiative is open to all non-working female residents in Dubai. Each volunteer is expected to contribute a minimum of three shifts of four hours each week to the The Dubai Mall programme.

The Dubai Mall Guest Services Volunteers will support the strong on-the-ground Guest Services team of 200 plus staff and will be the social and informative hub for visitors to new mall.

The Dubai Mall will open its doors to the public on October 30 and the volunteers will play an instrumental role in welcoming customers and helping them find their way around the huge complex, which sprawls over 5.9 million sq ft of floor area.

Mr Jim Badour, CEO, Emaar Malls Group said: “The Guest Services Volunteer Programme is an ideal opportunity for non-working female residents in Dubai to act as ‘ambassadors’ and be part of the opening dynamic of this landmark endeavour.”

Mr Yousif Al Ali, general manager, The Dubai Mall, added: “We are looking for ladies who enjoy mixing with different nationalities and have a passion for shopping and socialising.”

Those interested in being part of The Dubai Mall’s Guest Services Volunteer Programme can visit www.thedubaimall.com and complete an online application or call The Dubai Mall at 04-362 7500.

The Dubai Mall will feature more than 1,200 stores and over 160 food & beverage outlets.

Among its attractions are SEGA Republic®, an indoor theme park; the Olympic-size Dubai Ice Rink; the world’s largest indoor Gold Souk and a 22-screen Cineplex.

There are more than 14,000 undercover car park spaces and the adjoining The Address, Dubai Mall luxury 5-star hotel with 250 rooms and 450 serviced apartments.

The Dubai Mall expects an estimated 30 million visitors within the first year of trade.
