Dikran Tchablakian has agreed to join FindWhere's advisory board.

A GPS location software provider that is bidding to crack the Middle East market has called on CompuMe founder Dikran Tchablakian for guidance.

US-based FindWhere, which provides a solution that simplifies the complexity of advanced GPS, satellite mapping and wireless communication, has named Tchablakian as a member of its advisory board and will call upon him to assist their MENA expansion efforts.

FindWhere claims to be in the process of launching “several” business agreements in the regional GPS and location-based services (LBS) market, and believes Tchablakian’s track record of retail store development will prove invaluable.

“His operational, retail and technical expertise will help us continue to deliver peace of mind to our customers with next-generation location based service solutions,” claimed Jaap Groot, founder and CEO at FindWhere.

Both parties are already well acquainted with one another after FindWhere recently announced a Middle East joint venture with Dubai-based location application provider I2TC, where Tchablakian currently serves as chairman in addition to his role as senior VP for retail at i2.

Tchablakian — who can call on more than 25 years of regional channel experience with Sakhr, CompuMe and i2 — says he will use his spot on the advisory board to help the company build its customer base. “I will ensure that MENA consumers are serviced and supported through the LBS market — an emerging and rapidly growing business field in our area,” he said.

Tchablakian joins Telefonica’s Roberto Miranda as the second member of FindWhere’s advisory board. Both executives have pledged to help the firm expand product and service features, secure new clients and develop additional intellectual property in the LBS arena.
