UAE consumer electronics retailers land air mileage

Air Miles has added Telefonika and RadioShack to its retail network in the UAE, allowing customers to earn an Air Mile for every dirham spent at the stores.

"Consumer electronics is emerging as a key growth sector in the Middle East. Rising disposable incomes in the region, a large and technology-hungry expatriate population and a burgeoning tourism industry have led to market reports suggesting sector growth across the Gulf at up to 30% for 2008," said Awny Ahmed, head of Business & CRM Development, Air Miles Middle East.

"Consumers who choose to purchase their household electrical items, mobile phones and accessories from participating Air Miles stores including Telefonika and RadioShack Dealer in UAE will be earning Air Miles that can be redeemed for a huge range of rewards including travel, homewares, treats and gifts."

Air Miles is free to join and allows members to earn and redeem points in the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.

Bashar Anabtawi, general manager, Global Link Communications, the exclusive dealer for the two brands said the partnership with give it an edge in the market by offering the best service, deals and rewards.
