UAE-operator Etisalat has launched a new tariff that will cut the cost of off-peak international calls by 50% and increase peak international calls by 10%.
Etisalat’s Wasel and GSM customers who opt in to the new plan will get 50% savings on calls made between 1am and 7am everyday, with no rental or activation fees.
But calls to overseas destinations between 2pm and 4 pm, and 9pm and 1am on weekdays, and from 7am on Friday to 1am on Saturday will be charged an additional 10% under the plan.
Local calls to mobile and fixed lines during peak hours will be 36 fils/min.
Etisalat’s chief marketing officer, Essa Al Haddad, said: “This latest initiative is part of Etisalat‘s continuous efforts to offer outstanding value to our customers in an environment where the cost of living and other expenses are on the rise.”
Customers can also pick and choose from various other options provided by Etisalat, such as ‘Global Friends & Family’ plan that enables customers to select any three international numbers for a discount of 20% for a monthly fee of AED 20, and a ‘Favorite Country Plan’ for discounts of 30% for fixed-lines, 25% for postpaid mobiles, and 20% for Wasel subscribers.
