Unipods pre-engineered bathrooms

Pre-engineered bathrooms from Unipods are the latest craze in bathroom design. Having recently introduced itself to the UAE market, the bathroom units for both commercial and residential buildings are built in a factory, shipped to the site ready for installation.

This innovative concept which has been used in Europe for over 40 years has now made its way into the Middle Easts hospitality market.

“A Bathroom pod is a full turn-key bathroom solution, designed and tailor made to the specification of the client. The bathroom pods are finished bathroom units, fitted with all the sanitary ware, accessories and tiles. They are then delivered with all the plumbing, and electrical fixtures ready to be connected to the main power and water supply of the building,” said Caroline Clergé, marketing coordinator of Unipods.

“Hotels are particularity suitable for bathroom pods, as there is a high level of repetition between the different rooms. We are currently negotiating with some of the major developers in the UAE. The market is very receptive to the benefits using pre-engineered bathrooms rather than traditional methods, especially with the current time pressure and skilled labor shortage,” she added.

From smaller budgets, to 5 star hotels Unipods has control over the entire bathroom construction process, from start to finish.

“From specification to installation, Unipods acts as a single point of contact throughout the whole process, removing complex logistics and coordination between designers, contractors and the various numbers of suppliers, and sub-contractors involved,” said Clergé.

“The product is installed as the building is erected, before the facade of the building is completed. Depending on the structure of the building, it can be installed horizontally (slide-in) by a forklift or via a loading platform or, vertically (drop-in) via a crane. The pod then only needs to be connected to the main power and water supply of the building.”

“Once installed, the pod cannot be differentiated from a traditional bathroom – it becomes part of the design of the building,” she added.
