Nortel to go 'hyper' at Gulfcomms expo

Nortel Networks will demonstrate the importance of hyperconnectivity at GITEX Technology Week.

The focus will be on a new era in which anything that can be connected to the network will be connected, encompassing person-to-person, person-to-machine and machine-to-machine communications.

"Our participation at Gulfcomms 2008 is to demonstrate our leadership in enterprise solutions, while positioning ourselves as a major player in next-generation carrier technologies and solutions, as well as adding more value and market share to our SMB solutions," says Hassan Hamadani, marketing manager for Nortel.

Hamadani and his team will be demonstrating a variety of solutions and products at GITEX including unified security architecture, SMB converged voice and data solutions and carrier IMS solutions. There will also be demonstrations in the enterprise, carrier and SMB categories, Hamadani said.

Nortel has participated at GITEX over the past nine years and views the exhibition as a key opportunity to showcase its products, services and expertise to existing and potential customers alike. "The Middle East is one of Nortel's key markets. Our strong growth is illustrated by the fact that our operations in Dubai have grown substantially and are now supported by a team of more than 50 personnel," explains Hamadani.

"By driving the transformation of today's networks, Nortel is investing in technologies focused in the areas of 4G broadband wireless, carrier ethernet, optical, next-generation services and applications, unified communications and secure networking," he added.

"Nortel is transforming enterprises with unified communications that bring together IP telephony, real-time multimedia, mobile and fixed desktops, and business process integration, to eliminate delays that impact personal, workgroup and enterprise productivity."
