The Electronic Saudi Network (e-Saudi), a designer and builder of wireless networks in the Middle East, is to spend $8 million in 2009/10 on expanding its operations within the region, the firm’s projects manager said late on Sunday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Gitex technology exhibition, Anwar Shwaikh said the Riyadh-based firm is planning to invest in building up a network of regional offices.
"We are a Middle East company specialising in WiMax and Wi-Fi and there is a huge demand for this kind of business. We have to expand into other countries in the Middle East and we already have projects in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar and Egypt," Shwaikh told Arabian Business.
"Our operational offices need to be managerial offices in order to decentralise the company, allow decisions to be made independently and satisfy the demand of our clients."
E-Saudi said its customers within the region include telecom operators, government ministries and oil and gas corporations. One of its UAE customers is Abu Dhabi Traffic Police, it said.
